Radiesse in Walker & Grand Rapids

What is Radiesse?
Radiesse is an FDA approved dermal filler made of tiny calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel. Most fillers you've heard of are hyaluronic acid, which adds softness and volume. Radiesse adds structure. Then, as the gel is gradually absorbed, the microspheres act as a scaffold that signals your skin to build new collagen around them.
That's the whole idea: lift now, collagen later. If you want the longer version, read Radiesse, explained.
Where Radiesse makes the biggest difference
Chin
A chin that sits a little back makes the whole profile look less defined. Adding structure here changes how the nose, lips and jaw relate to each other, which is why a small change can look like a big one.
Jawline
Radiesse (+) was the first injectable FDA approved to improve moderate to severe loss of jawline contour. It gives the jaw a cleaner edge from the side and from the front.
Lower face
It's also approved for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, like the lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth, and is useful where the lower face has started to feel less firm.
How it works
- The day ofSupport you can see
The gel gives immediate lift and definition. You leave already seeing a difference.
- The months afterSupport your body builds
As the gel is absorbed, the microspheres prompt your skin to make new collagen. That collagen is yours.
One patient, one plan, three products
Radiesse is rarely the whole answer. Here's a real plan from Chelsey's chair.
The goal: more balance from every angle, while keeping her features looking like hers.
- Radiesse for the chin, jawline and lower face
- Placed to build stronger proportions and a more defined profile, without chasing volume everywhere.
- PRF for the under eyes
- Uses components from her own blood to support the delicate under-eye area, helping soften hollowness and smooth the transition into the cheek.
- Restylane for the lips
- Shape, definition and subtle volume. The goal was lips that make sense with the rest of her face, not just bigger lips.
Results vary. Photos shared with the patient's written permission.
Why structure comes first
When a face starts to look tired or less defined, the instinct is to add volume wherever you notice it. Often the better move is to support what's underneath first. Chin projection and jawline definition change how everything above them reads.
Once the structure is right, smaller and more precise touches finish the picture. That's how you get a result people can't quite name, where you just look more like yourself.
Is Radiesse right for you?
It might be a good fit if
- Your chin or jawline has never felt as defined as you'd like, or has softened over time.
- You want definition that holds, not just volume.
- You like the idea of your own collagen doing some of the work.
It's probably not the first step if
- You're looking for lips. That's a job for hyaluronic acid filler.
- You're new to filler and want something adjustable.
- Your main concern is texture or tone. A skin treatment will do more.
Radiesse vs. HA filler vs. Sculptra
| HA filler (Restylane, RHA) | Radiesse | Sculptra | |
|---|---|---|---|
| The day of | Immediate volume and shape | Immediate lift and definition | Little lasting change yet |
| Over time | Holds volume as it slowly breaks down | Stimulates your own collagen | Builds collagen gradually over a series |
| Can it be dissolved? | Yes | No | No |
| Often chosen for | Lips and soft volume | Chin, jawline, structure | Gradual, whole-face support |
What to expect
- Your consult
Chelsey looks at your face from every angle, talks through what you want to change, and decides whether Radiesse, another product or a combination makes sense. You leave with a plan either way.
- Treatment
Radiesse (+) contains lidocaine to help with comfort. Most patients describe pressure more than pain.
- The next few days
Swelling, tenderness or bruising is common and temporary. You'll leave with aftercare instructions.
- The months after
New collagen builds in the treated area, supporting your result long after the gel is gone.
Consults with Chelsey are complimentary for a limited time (regularly $75). Payment plans are available through CareCredit and Sunbit.
Questions we hear a lot
How long does Radiesse last?
For many patients, Radiesse tends to last a year or more. How long it lasts for you depends on the area treated, how much product is placed, and how your body responds.
What areas can Radiesse treat?
At Elevé, Radiesse is most often used to add structure to the chin, jawline and lower face. It's FDA approved for improving moderate to severe loss of jawline contour and for moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Does Radiesse hurt?
Radiesse (+) contains lidocaine, a numbing agent, to help with comfort during treatment. Most patients describe pressure more than pain.
Is there downtime after Radiesse?
Most people go back to their day. Swelling, tenderness or bruising for a few days is common with any filler, and you'll leave with aftercare instructions.
Can Radiesse be dissolved?
Not with hyaluronidase, the enzyme used to dissolve hyaluronic acid filler. That's one reason it's used for structural areas and placed after a thorough consult.
Can Radiesse be used in the lips?
No. Lips are best treated with a hyaluronic acid filler like Restylane, which is softer and adjustable.
What's the difference between Radiesse and Sculptra?
Both stimulate your own collagen. Radiesse also gives visible lift and definition the day it's placed, while Sculptra works gradually over a series of treatments.
How much does Radiesse cost?
It depends on how many syringes your plan needs, which is decided at your consult. You'll get exact pricing before anything is placed, and payment plans are available through CareCredit and Sunbit.
Results vary from person to person. Treatment recommendations are made by a licensed provider after an in-person consultation and review of your health history.
